Common Exterior Door Problems
Warped or swollen frames (often from moisture exposure), worn or missing weatherstripping, sticking or misaligned doors, damaged thresholds, and faded or peeling finishes are the issues we see most often. Sometimes the door itself is fine but the surrounding trim or threshold has deteriorated and needs attention.
We'll take a look at the whole entryway — not just the door slab — since problems with the frame or threshold often need to be addressed for a repair to actually hold.
Repair or Replacement
Many door issues, like failing weatherstripping, minor warping, or hardware problems, can be corrected without replacing the entire unit. When a door has significant structural damage, or you're looking to update the style and improve energy efficiency at the same time, replacement is often the better long-term move.
We'll walk through the condition of your current door and entryway with you before recommending a direction.
